It’s blue tooth. The sound is excellent for my ears, and my phone clients think it sounds good. The microphone is detachable so you can remove when you just want to listen to music or podcasts.2 knocks on this model;- it only links up with one device. And then stays linked. If I’m on my iPhone, iPad or my PC, there’s a good chance it won’t connect by Bluetooth because it wasn’t disconnected after last use. Drives me a little batty when I’m trying to get on quickly with someone. Have to hunt down my other two devices to make sure it’s disconnected from them.- not sure if it’s user error, but some times I can seem to get it to turn on. You hold a button til the voice says you are connecting and then says ready to pair. I’ve had it two months. Not convinced it’s user error-
